Bemidji: Paul Bunyon Sub Shop
Looking for a sub sandwich while in Bemidji, Minnesota, the home of the legendary Paul Bunyon? Look no further than Paul Bunyon Sub Shop on the shores of Lake Bemidji. Also, don't expect to find a pick-your-toppings layout like you would have at Subway or Quiznos. This is a small town restaurant, and it looks and feels that way. When entering, you walk through the dining area to a small order window, with the menu laid out on both sides of the window. And there are definitely lots of choices to choose from here. The toppings that go on each sub are listed on the oversized-menu as well. While you probably could customize your sub with your choice of toppings, once placing your order, you don't watch it go down the assembly line and pick and choose your toppings based on what you see in front of you. Instead, your sub is made in the kitchen in back while you take your seat and wait for it to be delivered to your table. The wait is perhaps a bit long for a sub shop, particularly if you're used to the places where your sub goes down the assembly line. However, you will find that your wait for your meal is well worth it. The subs here are top notch.
